Subject: connection between Brereton family and Bruington?

Hello my name is Amy Bruington,

In searching for possible origins of the surname Bruington. I am led back often to the name Brereton. I know very little of the Bruington family as my great grandfather Bruington married and had one son then died. My great grandmother remarried and nothing much was known about the Bruingtons. Can you tell me what (if any) is known about the surname Bruington or when the spelling might have been changed?

Thanks for any help

Amy
