On the marriage license it shows his father was Henry Brereton,
Clergyman (have copy of marriage record)
Anne Minson’s father was Joseph Dines Minson

I know his wife Anne (Minson) Brereton (also Annie) remarried after
his death to a George Miles and they came to Canada arriving 9 Jun
1883 heading for Toronto, Ontario. They came with the following
children: Fanny Elizabeth, Catherine, Thomas & Frank Brereton
plus their children George, Mary & Ada Miles.
Anne and John Arthur must have stayed in England.
